Numbers, qualifications and experience of staff
Our Home is staffed in accordance with the requirements of Regulation 22 of The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010. In particular, we will ensure that as is reasonably possible there will be suitably qualified, competent and experienced staff in sufficient numbers appropriate for the health and welfare of the Users. Our 24-hour nursing is delivered by registered Nurses trained to provide specialist care. As with all other members of staff, our Nurses are selected for their personal qualities as well as their professional qualifications. Respecting older people and recognising each resident as a unique individual, they provide not just high quality nursing skills, but truly person-centred care.
Our service is led by Simone a highly qualified, experienced mental health nurse, who has since 1980s worked in a variety of acute and care settings. Simone prides herself on her ‘open door management and making herself available to the residents, staff and visitors.
Simone is supported by a well-established team of qualified nurses, who ach bring something to Stubby Leas.
There are teams of qualified, experienced carers who deliver the personal care, priding themselves on the knowledge and understanding they have of the people they are caring for.
Activities. There is a team of dedicated activities co-ordinated, who offer a wide range of activities, from gentle support and stimulation to our ill residents, through to group activities. They offer;

Registered Provider: Mrs. Jagruti Patel BSc Pham, MRPS.
Mrs Patel has some twenty-five years in care home management and her clinical background is as a qualified pharmacist.

Care Manager: Vipul Agarwal is a CQC-registered manager and a Registered Mental Health Nurse, qualified since 2004. He has extensive experience in mental health care across both the private sector and the NHS, where he has held several management positions. He commenced his role as Manager at Stubby Leas Nursing Home on 7 April 2025.
Nurses organise, plan and review care in liaison with families, residents and healthcare professionals. Supervise carers on the delivery of quality care
Care staff and key workers Carry out direct (‘hands-on’) care under the supervision of nurses and in accordance to the agreed plan of care
Activity Co-ordinators provide a meaningful range of activities for both individual and groups of residents
Administrator supports the care manager on all aspects of administration from fee payments to staff wages
Domestics work as members of the care team to ensure that the Home maintains consistently high standards of cleanliness
Cooks ensure that residents can enjoy the highest standards of catering and involve residents in menus ranges and choices
Laundry staff ensures that there is an efficient and organised laundry service for all residents
