The care home and its location

The Home offers the following accommodation
These are twenty-eight single rooms with five having en-suite facilities and ten for nursing care. There are ten double rooms of which four are for residential care and six for nursing care.
The Home comprises five bathrooms, all with thermostatically controlled hot and cold running water, wash basins, bath hoists or bath seats where required, central heating and a nurse-call system. We have two recently installed ‘wet rooms’ with walk-in showers to enable easier bathing. Doors are fitted with suitable locks to maintain the dignity and privacy of the User whilst complying with the latest health and safety requirements (which include quick access in an event of an emergency).
We have recently installed new doors for all rooms and new double glazing throughout.
The home has six WC’s with hand basins and hot and cold running water, thermostatic central heating and nurse-call systems. There are three main lounges. These are tastefully decorated, fully carpeted and furnished with a range of comfortable furniture to meet the needs of the Users. The lounges include the large lounge in the main building, a smaller lounge for more dependent residents and a middle lounge which is for occasional usage for more ambulant residents.
All lounges, apart from the middle lounge, are supervised by carers during the daytime. The whereabouts of residents using the middle lounge are checked regularly by care staff. All rooms are centrally heated, have good lighting and ventilation and feature large windows that overlook the extensive gardens and terraces that Users can enjoy in fine weather.
The home has two dining rooms that are tastefully decorated and furnished with suitable furniture to encourage a socially interactive atmosphere for Users.
We have a large activities room which is a unique feature where Users can enjoy many varied activities or hobbies or learn new skills. We are nearing completion of a sensory ‘light’ room.
The home has a large and well-equipped kitchen to supply a high standard of food for Users, taking into account any individual deity requirements or needs.
Aims of the Home
To provide personal and nursing care, including Registered Nurse Care as defined by Regulation 2 of The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations, to people, of both sexes, over the age of 55 (48 places). This includes longer-term care and respite care.
To foster an atmosphere of care and support which both enables and encourages our Users to live as full, interesting and independent a lifestyle as possible with the provision of the best possible quality of care with rules and regulations being kept to a minimum Please refer to the Philosophy of Care on the following pages for further explanation.
